Lexi Menish brings 15 years of experience working on complex international disputes.

She has acted as counsel in dozens of international arbitrations (commercial, investment, and construction) as well as U.S. and foreign litigation matters. She also sits as arbitrator and mediator. Lexi has been recognized by both Who’s Who Legal / Lexology Index as a Future Leader in International Arbitration and Legal 500 as part of its Arbitration Powerlist for Southeast Asia for multiple consecutive years.

Before founding her own practice in 2022, Lexi was a senior member of the international disputes team at Freshfields LLP (where she first met and worked closely with Viren) and was based in New York (2011-2015), Tokyo (2013), and Singapore (2015-2022). Earlier in her career, she was a legal intern to counsel at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (2009-2011).

Lexi is a member of the Reserve Panel of Arbitrators for the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (since 2023). She is also an adjunct professor of international arbitration at Vanderbilt University Law School (where she and Margaret first met as students and now co-teach).

Investment Arbitration:
Lexi has acted for both investors and States in a wide range of investment treaty disputes across sectors, including energy, mining, technology, and real estate. At Freshfields in Singapore, she was a member of the busiest investment arbitration practice in Asia, where she acted for States such as Korea and Vietnam, as well as Asian investors against foreign governments in Europe, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East.

Commercial Arbitration:
Lexi’s commercial arbitration experience is extensive, spanning most major institutional rules and arbitral seats, and a variety of sectors, including energy (renewables and hydrocarbons), commodities, technology, private equity, transportation, food and beverage, and automotive sectors.

Litigation:
Lexi has advised on litigation matters before courts in the United States, England and Wales, and throughout Asia and the Middle East. Clients say that one of her greatest strengths is her ability to work adeptly and collegially with counsel from other jurisdictions to coordinate strategy, manage risk, and deliver results. Lexi has experience advising on arbitration-adjacent litigations (including applications for enforcement and annulment of awards and interim protective measures) as well as general commercial disputes in the U.S. and abroad.

Public International Law:
Lexi has extensive experience advising clients on public international law issues. She has counselled sovereign pension funds and other stakeholders in their lobbying efforts regarding the negotiation of major bilateral and multilateral investment treaties, as well as corporates on structuring investments to obtain treaty protection and business and human rights issues.  Throughout law school, Lexi was a legal intern to a well-known international criminal lawyer and worked on cutting-edge issues in international humanitarian and human rights law.
