Margaret T. Artz is an attorney specializing in complex international disputes.
She has contributed to briefing and oral argument for domestic and international arbitrations and appellate and trial-court matters on a wide range of legal issues. She has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by New York Metro Super Lawyers for several consecutive years.
Margaret was previously Counsel at WilmerHale LLP (in New York) in the Litigation/Controversy Department and a member of the International Arbitration and Appellate & Supreme Court Litigation Groups. Earlier in her career, she was as an Associate at Freshfields LLP (based in Frankfurt, Germany). Margaret also served as a law clerk in a federal district court and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Commercial Arbitration:
Margaret’s experience in commercial arbitration spans matters with both international and domestic nexuses. She has represented clients in such sectors as aerospace, energy, manufacturing, and finance, and appeared in ad hoc and institutional arbitrations under the ICC, LCIA, and ICDR Rules. She has also acted in disputes concerning trade secrets, intellectual property, and employment under the AAA Commercial and Employment Rules.
Litigation:
Margaret has represented clients in federal and state court proceedings at all levels. Her appellate experience includes matters concerning U.S. constitutional law, civil and criminal procedure, administrative law, intellectual property, immigration, and employment disputes. At the trial level, she has acted for clients in both civil matters, including in post-award proceedings, and criminal matters. Margaret also maintains an extensive pro bono practice including merits, cert‑stage, and amicus briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court.
