Drawing on his 20 years of practice, Viren discusses what motivated him to go to law school; his experience clerking at the International Court of Justice in the Hague; the impact of geopolitics and the approach of the Trump Administration to tariffs on international disputes; and compliance with court judgments and arbitral awards as advancing rule of law and accountability.
Viren was selected by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star from 2015 to 2020 and then a Super Lawyer in the categories of International Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and General Litigation between 2021 and 2025. Viren is the Founding Partner of Mascarenhas Law PLLC, which is a disputes boutique headquartered in New York focusing on arbitration (commercial, construction, investment) and U.S. litigation, in particular relating to arbitration and non-U.S. proceedings. Members of the firm, which includes Margaret Artz and Lexi Menish, also serve as arbitrators and mediators.
